The Solaria Nebula Empty The Solaria Nebula

Infobase Article here

In this Database entry I will try to go a little more in depth as to the Perseus's purpose in the Nebula.

To start with here's some quotes from the article to give you an idea of what we're dealing with

Infobase wrote:The Solaria Nebula is filled with unusual plasma storms, not unlike those found in the Badlands of the Alpha Quadrant. Because of this, the nebula was used nearly two hundred thousand years ago as a sort of "Iconian Bunker," or last line of defence for the dying race. As such, it is filled with wondrous and hidden mysteries of its own--not to mention enough plasma storms to make flying through it a nightmare.

The Nebula was described by Captain Alcar Dovan as appearing something like, "blue and purple and gold flowing together like thick cream in infinitely long streams within the nebula, filling our display with color and blocking out space and all the stars. Exotic particles appeared and disappeared in small nodes of energy at the ends of some of what I can only refer to as 'color-streams.'" This is in Captain Dovan's usual overblown prose, however, and should be taken with a few grains of salt. Stars are generally not visible from planets and stations within the Nebula, or are at least obscured.

Here's a picture of what I personally thing the Nebula looks like from our perspective on Earth

The Pereus is being sent to explore this Nebula because so few ships have, yet we know there are almost certainly more Iconian Artifacts in the Nebula, and possibly scout for an alternative "safe passage" out of the Solaria Nebula and into Open Space, although it is unlikely we'll find one since we're heading deeper into the Nebula which spans hundreds, if not thousands of Light-years. Other things we may come upon are pockets like the Pre-Warp Cradle discovered by the Ticonderoga (note that the Ticonderoga only found it chasing a fugitive and wasn't actively searching out or exploring the Nebula) that may contain civilizations for first contact, or hostile action missions. There are also the numerous gravitational eddy's and plasma storms that can play havoc with the Perseus's Navigation and might cut us off from support at Starbase 900 during certain times of the year where Storm Activity is high. 99% of the Nebula is still uncharted, let's knock that down a percent or two!
